Royal Enfield Himalayan 750 & HIM-E Electric ADV Teased From Khardung La

Royal Enfield is prepping to launch two new Adventure Bikes in India under the Himalayan lineup – the Himalayan 750 and the HIM-E (AKA Himalayan Electric), with two vastly different powertrains. That’s because one is an electric while the other is petrol-powered. While the HIM-E has been spotted recently during test runs in Ladakh, both bikes have been officially teased by the brand.

Both the ADVs have been spotted on test runs before, and now Royal Enfield has officially teased both these motorcycles side by side with the Himalayan mountain range as the background at the Khardung La pass in Ladakh.

Earlier, the Himalayan 750 has been spied multiple times in both India and abroad, while the Himalayan Electric was spied a few days ago outside a hotel in Ladakh.

The ADVs in the pictures are still not the final products; however, while the Himalayan 750 looks close to production, the Himalayan Electric seems to be still in its early testing phase. RE is testing both these vehicles in the Himalayan range in rough terrains, and they both made it to the Khardung La pass (What a smart way to tease your upcoming motorbikes).

Royal Enfield posted the pictures on their social media handles with multiple hashtags like #RidePure and #PureMotorcycling, among others, yet they did not reveal the names of these products. The tags could likely be the marketing slogans for the bikes.

Since both models are test mules, they are carrying the temporary red registration plates from Tamil Nadu. As for components, only the Himalayan 750 can be seen with a dual disc brake setup, hinting at a higher performance compared to the 650cc models.

The Himalayan 750 is more of an ADV tourer, catering for both off-roading and highway touring since it appears to get 19-inch front and 17-inch rear wheels wrapped with dual sport tyres.

The Himalayan Electric, in comparison, packs a lot of premium equipment that is not finalised yet. The performance is likely to be similar to the Himalayan 750, albeit at a premium price tag.
