The Shotgun 650 leaks have recently surfaced and the bike dimensions are shorter and narrower than Super Meteor. That makes sense since the bike is designed to roar in the streets and hence making it compact is a wise decision. But compact doesn’t mean it will be light. The Shotgun will likely be around 248 kg, 7 kg heavier than Super Meteor.

The bike is 2,170 mm long, 820mm wide, and 1,105mm tall with a wheelbase of 1,465 mm. When compared to Super Meteor, the Shotgun is 90 mm short, 70 mm short and 50 mm tall, but the wheelbase is 35 mm more in the Shotgun.

Some key design and feature highlights include classic RE round headlamps, a curvy fuel tank, a semi-digital instrument console, a wide handlebar, and chrome accents.

Now, since the Shotgun is compact, it will be more agile and nimble than the Super Meteor. The seat height will likely be close to 800 mm giving it a more roadster-type stance. The stance will nonetheless be upright and comfortable.

RE Shotgun 650 – Power like a Shotgun

The Shotgun is rightly named for the performance and specs it provides on paper. The bike sports a 320 mm disc at the front and a 300 mm disc at the rear with dual-channel ABS as standard. It will be using the 648cc parallel-twin, SOHC, air-oil cooled engine mated with a 6-speed mesh gearbox that produces a powerful 47 hp and 52.3 Nm of torque.

The Shotgun 650 is expected to launch around the end of 2023 at a starting price of Rs 3.25 lakh. The bike will enable Royal Enfield to strengthen its position in the 500+ segment, it recently set its foot again with the Super Meteor 650. Currently, the brand only has three bikes in the 500+ category – the Continental GT, the Interceptor and the Super Meteor.
