Hero Motocorp launched the Hero Karizma XMR 210 in India on August 29, 2023, for an introductory price of Rs 1.73 Lakh (ex-showroom) with a lot of hype around the iconic Karizma’s comeback. Fast forward to March 2025, the bike hasn’t recorded a single unit sold in the last 3 months. Is this a sign that the model will be discontinued soon due to the launch of the Karizma 250, or is it some other reason? Let’s check it out in detail.
Hero Karizma 210 Sales – Zero in 3 months
They say the third time’s a charm, but that’s not the case with the Karizma 210. The bike’s sales peaked in March 2024 with 1,874 units while the average sales were 739 units. For context, the Yamaha R15 sold 1,06,605 units during the same time with 8,883 units on average, despite the fact that the R15 packs a smaller engine for a higher price.
The Karizma’s sales were, although few but it was steady with a total of 4,806 units until now, with a steady decline in MoM sales after March 2024, except in July 2024, where we see a slight gain in MoM sales. However, the sales dropped quite a bit in October 2024 to 7 units, which further reduced to 4 units and then the hat-trick of 0 continued from December till February.
Hero Karizma 210 – Dicontinued?
So, is the Karizma 210 discontinued? Although Hero hasn’t issued any official statement regarding this matter, there are a few signs that indicate that the bike is soon to be a part of the brand’s history. For instance, the brand teased the Karizma XMR 210 Combat Edition in Jan 2025 which had more features and better equipment than the standard model but it never saw the light off the day and coupled with the fact that the Karizma 210 hasn’t scored a single unit in sales for 3 months now, there’s a chance Hero might just pull the plug of this bike and focus fully on the upcoming Karizma XMR 250.
If the bike is not discontinued, Hero might consider launching an update to the Karizma XMR 210 to make it more appealing among buyers, which will bring in features like USD front forks and a more advanced TFT cluster.
Also, the brand needs to go all out and expand its Premia showrooms as fast as they can across the country to offer a premium experience for their premium bikes like the Karizma. As for the Karizma itself, the bike is quite capable and reliable with a powerful engine that makes it one of the quickest in its segment.
