Last month Kawasaki also launched the Eliminator 500 in India and is also gearing up to launch their Versys X-300 in the Indian market soon, as a test mule was recently spotted in Pune.

2024 Kawasaki Z650RS – Now gets a Traction Control

The motorcycle now gets a two-mode Kawasaki Traction Control (KTRC) System, which is a safety feature that assists riders with different experience levels. Mode 1 sets the traction control for aggressive rides to corner more smoothly, while Mode 2 minimizes the risk of wheel slipping on wet surfaces or other challenging terrains.

Apart from this, the motorcycle remains mechanically similar to the previous model. The suspension duties are taken care of by a telescopic fork at the front and a preload-adjustable horizontal link system at the rear. Meanwhile, the braking is handled by a dual disc at the front and a single rear disc, supported by dual-channel ABS.

Speaking of the design of the Z650RS, the bike draws inspiration from its big brother – the Z900RS and has this beautiful blend of aesthetically pleasing modern-retro looks. The old-school-inspired elements such as the classic round LED headlamp, a single piece seat and the overall 90’s retro superbike silhouette look rather refreshing in modern times, when most brands are giving an aggressive makeover to their bikes.

What further adds to the aesthetics is the twin-pod layout which many riders find attractive, but also has a small but multifunctional LCD screen integrated into the layout, keeping it in the modern times. This LCD screen supports Kawasaki’s smartphone connectivity which provides navigation support and hands-free calls.

Powering the Kawasaki Z650RS is the 649 cc Parallel-Twin engine that is also used in the Versys 650 and Ninja 650. This unit generates 67.07 bhp and 64 Nm of Torque and is paired with a 6-speed gearbox. The addition of the traction control will now help boost the rider’s confidence while handling this modern-retro powerhouse by providing enhanced safety, whether it is on wet roads or harsh terrains, so it’s now possible that this bike will soon be taken on long trips such as Ladakh by enthusiasts.
