The Hero Xtreme 250R revealed at the Bharat Mobility Expo 2025 and launched recently marks Hero’s entry in the premium 250cc segment. The bike has been out on the streets now and here are 6 top highlights.

Design
The Xtreme 250R might just be one of the most stylish and well-designed bikes in the segment. It features aggressive streetfighter styling, a sculpted fuel tank with shrouded extensions, and an upswept rear section, giving it that tail-tidy look. The Class-D LED projector headlight with LED DRLs is equally well-designed. The split seat and compact exhaust pipe make it sportier.

Features
The Xtreme 250R has a comprehensive LCD display with over 35 features, including Bluetooth connectivity, intelligent illumination, and navigation assistance. The features can be accessed through Hero Connect, which also offers real-time alerts, tracking, and seamless control. For performance lovers, the bike also features lap and drag race timers to monitor and improve their timings.

Engine and Performance
The bike features a 250cc, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine that generates 29.5 bhp at 9,250 RPM and 25 Nm of torque at 7,250 RPM. Hero claims the bike to be the quickest in its segment, with 0 to 60 kmph in just 3.2 seconds. The engine is paired to a 6-speed gearbox with an assist and slipper clutch which will help with enhanced control during those sudden downshifting.
Chassis and suspension
The bike is built around a high-tensile trellis frame which is designed for good weight distribution. As a result, the bike as its appearance is agile with superior handling and high-speed stability. It is equipped with 43mm USD front forks and a six-step adjustable mono-shock rear suspension ensuring riders have a comfortable journey.

Safety
For safety, the Xtreme 250R comes with switchable dual-channel ABS to prevent wheel lock-up and optimal stopping power. The braking is further supported by disc brakes on both ends instilling rider confidence.
Pricing and Rivals
The bike is launched at an ex-showroom price of Rs 1.80 Lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi), making it an enticing proposition. The pricing is set aggressively against its rivals like the Yamaha MT 15, Suzuki Gixxer 250 and Husqvarna Vitpilen 250.
