An upcoming 440cc bike from Hero has been pretty much confirmed that will use the co-developed 440cc platform with Harley-Davidson. The bike is reported to make its debut on January 22 and for now, the final name of the bike has been hinted at by Hero, albeit in an interesting way.
Last year, Hero registered two names for the bike. The first one was the Hurikan 440, while in March 2023, the bikemaker applied for another name, Mavrick 440. The later name now appears to be the one the company will go ahead with.
A teaser has been issued to various publications by Hero MotoCorp, which marks a landmark for the company venturing away from its traditional offerings and offering a product that will share the same platform with the Harley Davidson X440 but with a unique design and even a different chassis. The bike might also provide a different experience.
According to various publications that received the teaser, each of the physical invites contains a single alphabet of the final name of the motorbike. The alphabets reported by them as of now are I, R and V. Although the first two alphabets work for both names, the V seems to fit in Mavrick, which pretty much seals the assumption that the upcoming bike will be named Mavrick 440.
Currently, the Harley Davidson X440 uses a 440cc single-cylinder, oil and air-cooled unit that delivers 27 bhp of power and 38 Nm of Torque, paired with a 6-speed gearbox along with an assist and slipper clutch. The engine might be tuned differently to match the characteristics of the upcoming motorbike.
