The bike will be powered by the new Superquadro Mono engine that generates 77.5 hp and 63 Nm, which can increase to 84.5 hp and 67 Nm when paired with the Termignoni racing exhaust (optional). The engine is mated to a 6-speed transmission with a slip-and-assist clutch and an optional bidirectional quickshifter. This feature comes as a standard with the RVE variant.

The design carries the soul and style of a typical Hypermotard with its tall and flat seat alongside a long front fender. One thing to note is the brand’s choice to retain the twin exhaust mufflers, despite the engine being a single-cylinder unit.

Another highlight is the weight of the bike, which is shockingly lightweight at just 151 kilos (excluding fuel). Moving on, the suspension is handled by a fully adjustable USD fork from Marzocchi and a monoshock from Sachs, while the braking is taken care of by a radial M4.32 monobloc caliper with a 330mm disc at the front. Dual-channel ABS is standard which can be turned off at the rear. The front is a 120/70-ZR17 unit while the rear tyre is a chonky 160/60-ZR17 unit.

Rider aids are also loaded in this bike including cornering ABS, traction control, 3 power modes, 4 riding modes, engine braking control and launch control. Wheelie control is also offered as optional. All these aids can be used via the 3.5-inch LCD cluster.

The Hypermotard 698 Mono will be imported as a CBU in India and as a result, will come with a premium price tag.
