Bajaj is planning to launch its biggest Pulsar Ever very soon, possibly by the end of this month and chances are that it’s going to be a rebadged Dominar 400. Why? Well, recently the 300cc to 500cc single-cylinder motorbikes have started to gain a lot of traction in India with motorcycle culture evolving and every bike manufacturer is seemingly taking advantage of this trend.
Once the pioneer in the Indian automobile market with the introduction of Pulsar, Bajaj also joined this wagon, hoping to gain success just as they did with their premium commuter lineup, only to get hit with disappointment. While the Dominar 400 is regarded as one of the best budget adventure tourers in the Indian market right now, its sales are nowhere close to Pulsars.
Bajaj is also struggling to make a mark in the higher cc segments since their new 250 platform has received mixed feelings from buyers and hence they had to relaunch the Pulsar 220. Despite all the struggles and obstacles, the Pulsars are still selling like hotcakes and it is to be seen whether the upcoming Biggest Pulsar is basically a rebadge of their Flagship Dominar lineup or not.
Bajaj Auto CEO, Rajiv Bajaj also confirmed the launch of the Biggest Pulsar very soon. He mentioned earlier that the company will launch 6 new Pulsars by this FY and with 4 Pulars already launched in 2024, there are two more remaining and one of them is the biggest Pulsar ever. As hinted, the launch will take place by the end of this month since the FY 2023-24 will be ending on 31st March.
The upcoming Biggest Pulsar might be either the NS or the RS and might be either the newer 25cc engine that is used by N250 and F250 or KTM’s older 373cc engine that is used in Dominar 400. It might as well be the newer KTM 399cc engine that made its debut with the 2024 390 Duke and Husqvarna Svarpilen 401 and is considered a very good mill.
On the other hand, Bajaj might as well pull a Mahindra and discontinue the Dominar lineup and rebadge the Dominar 400 adn 250 under the Pulsar lineup. For reference, Mahindra discontinued its TUV lineup and bought it under the Bolero brand, which was a huge success for the brand.
