Bajaj Auto has recently released a teaser video of a new Pulsar motorcycle through their official Pulsar handle and the netizens are confused about whether it is the new NS400 or the updated NS200. The Bajaj Pulsar NS400 is claimed to be the biggest Pulsar ever, although this bike is rumoured to be launched by the second or third quarter of this CY.
The 15-second teaser shows the positioning of the radiator area and horn along with the dual-channel ABS with graphics written in white colour, engine casing, Y-spoked design of the alloy wheels, side panels and white finished graphics on the lower part of the fuel tank. Even the shape of the headlight remains similar to the existing NS200.
The teaser also shows the same Glossy Ebony Black and Cocktail Wine Red/white colour scheme that is being offered in the current model without any changes in terms of graphics, maybe because the NS200 got a graphical and features update which includes the USD front forks, dual-channel ABS, new alloys and an updated console. Apart from this, halogen turn indicators and rear monoshock suspension with red springs and pre-load adjustability will be retained.
This time the biggest update will probably be the new LCD instrument cluster which has been introduced recently in the Pulsar N150 and N160, along with a secondary display on the tank. Along with the NS200, the NS160 is also expected to receive a similar update as indicated by a test prototype, which was spotted a few weeks ago.
This is a necessary update since despite being one of the favourite 200cc bikes among the youths, the Pulsar NS200 have stuck with the same semi-digital instrument cluster from its launch over a decade ago. Don’t get me wrong, it has that old-school naked sports bike charm to it, but in order to stay in competition, a digital console is a must, which will act as a refresher.
That being said, the naked sports bike may or may not get an LED headlamp this time too and no mechanical changes are also expected in terms of specs and the liquid-cooled 199cc engine. With the introduction of a digital console, expect the pricing to increase a tad bit from the current price tag of Rs 1.46 lakh (ex-showroom).
