Does the Bajaj Freedom 125’s New Price bring any changes?

With the new price at the entry level, the Freedom is almost on par with the Honda Shine 125, which is India’s best-selling 125cc motorcycle. The Freedom is available in 3 variants, and the top-spec NG04 Disc LED costs Rs 1.11 Lakh (ex-showroom) while the mid-spec NG04 Drum LED is priced at Rs 95,381 (ex-showroom), both of which remain unchanged.

While the reason behind the price cut is unknown, do note that the price reduction does not bring any changes to the bike. The reason might be low sales performance by the Freedom, which is due to the lack of proper CNG infrastructure. Also, the Freedom is the first of its kind (CNG 2-wheeler), hence the lack of awareness might also be hindering its sales performance.

For reference, the Freedom 125 posted triple-digit sales of 993 units in April 2025 and 1,394 units in March 2025, which is quite low considering the mass commuter bike segment is very competitive.

The Bajaj Freedom 125, despite the lower price, is packed with features like an LED headlight, an LCD instrument console with smartphone connectivity via Bluetooth, a Combined Braking System, a real-time mileage indicator, a gear position indicator, a single-piece seat, a rear tyre hugger and more.

As for the engine, the Freedom 125 is powered by a 125 cc single-cylinder air-cooled engine that generates 9.5 PS and 9.7 Nm. The motor can run on both CNG and petrol. The 2-wheeler holds 2-litre petrol and a 2-litre CNG tank. It comes with a claimed fuel efficiency of 100 km/kg for CNG and 65 km/l for petrol. The total range of the motorcycle stands at around 330 kilometres.
