Bajaj Auto is seemingly gearing up to bring back the Bajaj Avenger Street 220 in India soon. The brand has homologated the motorcycle in the Indian market recently, so it’s expected to make a comeback soon. Let’s check out the key features, possible launch date and price of the bike.

Bajaj Avenger 220 Street Homologated, To Launch Soon
Currently, Bajaj Auto is offering two versions of the Avenger – Cruise and Street. The Cruise comes only with a 220 cc engine, while the Street comes with a 160 cc engine. Earlier, the Street version used to come with a 150 cc as well as a 220 cc motor, the latter making a comeback again soon.
The Homologation Documents have been leaked online and revealed some crucial components of the motorcycle, according to which the Avenger 220 Cruise is positioned as a base model while the Avenger 220 Street is listed as an iteration. As for dimensions, the Avenger 220 Street has a wheelbase of 1,490 mm, a width of 806 mm, a length of 2,210 mm and a height of 1,070 mm, making it slightly shorter than the 220 Cruise due to the lack of a tall windshield.

Both the Avengers are proper cruisers with low-slung seats, forward-set foot pegs and a pulled-back handlebar for more relaxed posture that provides sofa-like comfort. The Street, however, is more city-oriented with more stealthier colours and a black finish on all of them and alloy wheels, unlike the Cruiser, which gets a Chrome overdose with a tall windshield, a rear pillion backseat, tubed tyres and more. One can say the aesthetics of Street is more modern, while Cruise has a retro charm.

The 220 Street will be powered by the same 220 cc oil-cooled SOHC single-cylinder engine that powers the Avenger 220 Cruise. This motor produces 19.03 PS of Peak power and 17.55 Nm of Peak Torque paired with a 5-speed transmission.
Bajaj Avenger 220 Street – Launch Date & Price
The bike is expected to be launched soon and will be positioned below the Avenger 220 Cruise, which currently retails at Rs 1.48 Lakh (ex-showroom), so expect the 220 Street to be priced somewhere around Rs 1.4 Lakh (ex-showroom) or even lower to become more competitive.
Currently, Bajaj Avenger is the only brand that provides a proper textbook cruiser in its segment with unrivalled comfort, but it remains quite underrated in India.
