Kawasaki has launched the new Ninja 650 in the country, which updates the bike to meet the more recent and stricter OBD-2B emission standards. The bike now retails at Rs 7.27 Lakh (Ex-showroom), which is a price hike of Rs 11,000 over the MY24 version.

The unsold stocks of the MY24 Ninja 650 are still on sale with an attractive discount and benefits worth Rs 25,000. With the MY25 iteration, team green is only a sole Lime Green colour scheme, which features new graphics and finish. The colour is a bit different from the Lime Green of last year’s model. The new model’s Lime Green is Green in its base with contrasting shades such as Yellow, White and Black.

This Ninja is a middle-weight sports tourer that gets an aerodynamic design, such as the wind shield, that protects the rider from wind blasts quite well. The new version does not have any changes to the overall design.

As for features, the bike gets a split LED headlamp design with fairing-mounted ORVMS. The posture is slightly upright with almost neutral footpegs, making it comfortable for longer rides. There’s also an underbelly exhaust, an aluminium swingarm, LED tail light and a seat which is quite spacious for both rider and pillion.

Other components include RSU telescopic front forks, rear mono-shock, and 17-inch alloy wheels. The braking is handled by a dual-disc setup at both ends with dual-channel ABS for optimal braking. Despite being a 650 cc sports tourer, the bike weighs 196 kilos.

The main update, however, is in the bike’s powertrain. The new Kawasaki Ninja 650 is powered by the same 649 cc parallel-twin liquid-cooled engine, which is now OBD-2B compliant and churns out 67 bhp and 64 Nm, paired with a 6-speed transmission.

In India, despite Team Green’s lineup being quite on the higher side, the 2025 Kawasaki Ninja 650’s price is quite appealing as it retails at Rs 7.27 Lakh (ex-showroom). The bike faces direct competition from the likes of Honda CBR650R and Triumph Daytona 660, both of which cost more while packing triple-cylinder and four-cylinder engines, respectively.
