BMW Motorrad India has recently been gearing up to launch the BMW F 450 GS in India soon. The bike was earlier spotted during test runs near the TVS factory in Hosur, Tamil Nadu.
The brand has recently discontinued its entry-level motorcycles - G 310 R and G 310 GS. The brand did not consider updating to meet latest OBD-2B emission norms due to the higher costs.
The F 450 GS takes inspiration from its bigger sibling, the R 1300 GS when it comes to design. The overall profile and fairing has been carried from the concept with a small windscreen upfront and beak-like front fender.
the test mule was seen with riding on a set of alloy wheels rather than the cross-spoke units which were seen on the concept model. The bike will likely get a 19-inch front wheel.
the suspension will be handled by fully adjustable USD front forks and rear monoshock. load damping. The concept weighed at 175 kilos, so expect the market-ready version to be slightly heavier.
The BMW F 450 GS will be powered by a new 450 cc twin-cylinder liquid-cooled petrol engine, which delivers a total power of 48 bhp. The engine is paired to a 6-speed transmission with slipper & assist clutch as standard.
The new ADV is expected to launch in the last quarter of 2025 in India and will be locally manufactured by TVS at its Hosur production facility. The bike will be positioned below the F 900 GS.
The bike will take on the likes of the Royal Enfield Himalayan 450 and the KTM 390 Adventure.
