The upcoming Maruti Dzire creates history by becoming the first Maruti Suzuki vehicle to score a perfect 5 starts in GNCAP crash tests.

The new Dzire scored 5 stars in adult protection & 4 stars in child occupant protection.

The Dzire scored 31.24 out of 34 in AOP, offering good safety to the driver and passenger's head, neck and knees but marginal chest protection.

The bodyshell and footwell area were rated as stable, the former being capable of handling further load.

The new Dzire scored a good 39.20 out of 42 in the COP test, offering full protection to the head in frontal impact.

The Dzire lost some points in COP because the front passenger airbag cannot be disconnected in case of a rearwad-facing child restraint installed.

Maruti previously scored 2 stars in the GNCAP crash test. The Ciaz was the only sedan to score 4 stars from Maruti.
