Osamu Suzuki Awarded Indian award

Late Japanese Industrialist Osamu Suzuki, former chief of Suzuki Motor Corporation has been awarded with India's Second-highest civilian award, Padma Vibhushan Posthumously.

Why was he awarded? 

He took  a risk and bet on Indian market when no else believed India to have a viable thriving automobile market. He has been awarded "for execptional & distinguised service" in the field of trade and industry.

Suzuki considered India as his second home and thus helped by forming a joint venture with Maruti Udyog LTD, which later became Maruti Suzuki India Ltd.
