Remember we mentioned the new gen Renault Duster on another news before and mentioned its debut on Nov 29, 2023. The new Duster’s design has been revealed ahead of its debut via some patent images before its global debut in Portugal.
New Gen Renault Duster Highlights
The images confirm that the new Duster will be based on the Dacia Bigster with some of its own design cues. Unlike the Bigster, the Duster appears to be more compact. The SUV sports distinctive Y-shaped headlamps, a high bonnet line and a slim grille with integrated headlamps as a single unit. Going further down, we have the bumper which looks like a bull bar with two air vents positioned vertically on each side.
Coming to the back side the V-shaped tail lights with the rear haunches are not so prominent anymore. In profile, the Duster is similar to the Bigster with squared wheel arches, roof rails and tapered rear quarter glass to maintain the connection between the old and new Duster visually.
The Patent images further show the ten-spoke alloy wheels which could be standard on the top trims as well as a kink in the cladding below the rear doors.
The New Duster will get 3 heart options
The new-gen Duster will come with 3 engine options – One with 120 hp producing 1.0-litre Turbo petrol (Entry level), a 140 hp, 1.2-litre Petrol Hybrid and a 170 hp, 1.3-litre turbo-petrol engine with flex-fuel compliance in the top most variants.
Now the 170 hp engine will simply make this SUV the most powerful Duster to ever go into production and Renault India is also looking for more strong hybrids and plug-in hybrids to make the Duster more fuel efficient.
As for India Lunch, the Duster will come to India by 2025 and will compete against 5-seater SUVs in the segment such as Kia Seltos, VW Taigun, Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara, Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder, Skoda Kushaq and Hyundai Creta.
