The Kia Carnival Facelift test mule was recently spotted in India, confirming the MPV’s arrival in the country. Kia was continuing with the 3rd Generation Carnival in India while the international markets had the 4th Gen Carnival on sale, until Kia like an assassin removed the MPV from its Indian website. Although the 4th Gen Carnival was showcased at the 2023 Auto Expo as Kia KA4, the spy shots confirm that we will skip to the upcoming facelift.
Kia Carnival facelift – Exterior & Interior
As seen in the spy shots, the Carnival facelift is identical to the model that was revealed by Kia globally back in November. The MPV will get new L-shaped LED headlights along with LED DRLs. The grille is also redesigned to a “Tiger nose” grille, along with a new front bumper. As for the rear, the L-shaped LED tail lights are connected by an LED light band along with new squarish alloys.
Overall we will most likely get the global version of the Carnival which will be more rugged and SUV-like to keep it in line with the newer Kia models. In India, the Carnival facelift will also be larger than the ongoing model.
While no information regarding the interior is revealed yet, the MPV will most likely sport the two 12.3-inch displays along with reworked AC and audio controls which are now located below the central screen. Other updated and added features include a HUD, rear dashboard cam, an updated digital key, ambient lighting on the dashboard, and a fingerprint-operated start button. The Carnival Facelift will be offered in 7,9 and 11-seat configs so it remains to be seen which one will be offered in our market.
Kia Carnival facelift – Engine, Price and Rivals
The Carnival Facelift globally gets a 3.5-litre petrol, 1.6-litre petrol-electric and 2.2-litre diesel units, the India-bound model might continue with the current MPV’s 2.2-litre 4-cylinder turbo-diesel mill with automatic transmission.
Arriving in 2024, the updated Carnival is expected to be priced in the range of Rs 26 lakh to 35 lakh, ex-showroom, India and will compete with other MPVs like Toyota Innova Hycross.
