Bajaj Auto has launched the updated Pulsar NS400Z at Rs 1.92 Lakh (Ex-showroom, Delhi), which is just a Rs 7,000 premium over its price tag at initial launch. This update brings several changes to the biggest Pulsar in every area, with performance taking the centre stage.

Bajaj Pulsar NS400Z updated for more performance and better parts
This update is to fix some of the shortcomings that were present with the initial model. Firstly, the brand has replaced the older bias-ply MRF tyres with Apollo Alpha H1 radials sized 110/70-ZR17 and 150/60-ZR17 at the front and rear, respectively. The rear tyre is wider than before, enhancing its muscular look. Bajaj has furthermore added sintered front brake pads, which replace the organic units on the previous model that were quite criticised.

The biggest Pulsar is powered by the same 373cc Dominar engine, which has now also undergone some changes. The redline has gone up to 10,700 RPM, and the motor is now more powerful as it churns out 43 hp at 9,000 RPM, which is an increase of 3 hp from before, delivered 500 RPM later in the rev band. The peak torque remained the same at 35 Nm.
As for features, one of the 4 riding modes, the sport mode, has seen a change and now gives better throttle response than before. The other 3 modes – Road, off-road and rain remain unchanged from before.
The Pulsar NS400Z also gets a bi-directional quickshifter with this update, which is only operational in sport mode. Overall, these updates enhance the performance for the NS400Z, making it an even better Value-for-money product than before.

Other than this, the key specs of the bike are retained, such as the 12L fuel tank, digital instrument cluster and an accessible seat height of 805 mm with a 165 mm ground clearance. Furthermore, the bike, despite being a 400cc streetfighter, weighs 174 kilos.
Considering the step up in power and added features while costing just Rs 7,000 more, the NS400Z solidifies its position as a value-for-money model in its category.
