Swedish bikemaker Husqvarna recently launched the Svartpilen 401 in India which is its most powerful bike in the country. The bike was on sale globally earlier and now made its way to India. The new Svartpilen 401 costs Rs 2,92,000 (ex-showroom) which makes it more affordable than the KTM 390 Duke but costlier than the Triumph Scrambler 400X.
Husqvarna Svartpilen 401 – Design
The scrambler has been reworked design-wise. It gets a new face in the form of a larger LED headlight with an LED ring around it along with a small visor as well. The side panels end below the centre of the rider seat compared to the older variant that had a longer side panel. The tank design has been revised.
The 2024 Svartpilen also gets a proper tail setup now instead of the single-sided tyre hugger like before. The right profile now looks much more clean as the exhaust is now an underbelly one. Overall the bike gives a retro-modern vibe, which is quite a growing segment in India and will be appealing to lot of buyers.
Features and Specs
The 2024 Husqvarna Svartpilen 401 also gets better and more features now such as traction control, ride-by-wire, Supermoto ABS, a 5-inch TFT Instrument cluster with smartphone connectivity as optional, and a type-C charging port.
The Scrambler also comes equipped with WP Apex UD forks at the front and an adjustable WP Apex monoshock at the rear. The braking is handled by a 320mm front and 240mm rear disc with dual-channel ABS and the bike runs on 17-inch wheels in 110/70 and 150/60 front and rear Pirelli block pattern tyres.
Engine
The new Svartpilen is powered by a 398cc, liquid-cooled, single-cylinder engine that churns out 46hp at 9,000 RPM and 39Nm at 7000 RPM. The engine is mated to a 6-speed gearbox and also gets a bi-directional quickshifter.
