Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India (HMSI) has announced a voluntary recall for Gold Wing and CBR1000RR to replace the fuel pumps on the respective bikes. As stated by the brand, the fuel pump impellers may have been improperly moulded, which can result in deformation and inevitably fuel pump failure.
Honda Gold Wing and CBR1000RR Recalled
Honda further states that the engine might not start as a result or can stall without indication during rides due to the inoperative fuel pump. The faulty units of the GL1800 Gold Wing were manufactured between December 2017 and December 2023, while the CBR1000RR was manufactured between September 2017 and April 2020.
The brand hasn’t disclosed the exact units of either bike that have been affected by the recall. Fortunately, the Japanese two-wheeler manufacturer announced that it would be replacing the faulty component free of cost on the affected units. The inspection and replacement will be conducted by the BigWing Topline dealerships all over India.
The Honda Gold Wing is equipped with a 1,833 cc inline, six-cylinder engine that produces 125 bhp of peak power and 170 Nm of peak torque, mated to a 7-speed DCT automatic. The tourer comes packed with features such as an airbag, cruise control, an electric windscreen, multiple riding modes, a digital display with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay and more. The Gold Wing comes with a starting price tag of Rs 39.20 Lakh (ex-showroom) and is one of the most luxurious cruisers in India, so much so that it almost be considered a two-wheeled car.
On the other hand. the Hodna CBR1000RR is powered by a 999 cc inline, 4-cylinder mill that churns out 215 hp and 113 Nm of Torque and is considered one of the best performance motorbikes globally. The bike has a top speed of 300 kmph and comes with Dual-Channel ABS, a Showa suspension setup, multiple riding modes and more.
