Aprilia has started dispatching the new Aprilia SR 175 scooter to select dealerships ahead of its launch in July. The new SR 175 seems to be the replacement for the SR 160, which brings in enhanced features and a more powerful engine.

Aprilia SR 175 to launch soon – Details
Seemingly a replacement of the SR 160 performance scooter, the SR 175 has started reaching select dealers, ready to hit the roads soon. It uses a new colour TFT instrument console that is taken from the Aprilia RS 457, with a different layout and animations. This display, similar to the RS and Tuono 457, features Bluetooth connectivity, allowing you to pair your device with the Aprilia app for features such as call and notification alerts, as well as music playback.

The new SR 175 is also powered by a more powerful engine, which is a new 174.7 cc, 3-valve, single-cylinder, air-cooled motor that generates 12.92 bhp at 7,200 RPM and 14.14 Nm at 6,000 RPM. For reference, the SR 160’s engine used to produce 11.27 bhp at 7,100 RPM and 13.44 Nm at 5,300 RPM.
The design and styling of the Aprilia SR 175 is the same as the SR 160, meaning it retains the sporty and sleek performance-oriented bodywork. The colour scheme is seemingly inspired by the RS 457. So far, we only got two paint combos – White & Red and Purple & Red, both clearly similar to the RS.

Other components like the frame, brakes, suspension and tyres appear to be the same as those on the SR 160, which is yet to be confirmed. The scooter gets 14-inch wheels at both ends with wide 120-section tyres for better grip on the road. For braking, a front disc brake is provided with single-channel ABS while the rear has a drum unit, which provides enough stopping power.
As for pricing, the Aprilia SR 175 is likely to be priced around Rs 1.31 Lakh (ex-showroom), which is more or less similar to the SR 160’s starting price of Rs 1.32 Lakh – 1.42 Lakh (ex-showroom). The pricing remains to be confirmed.
